Y&C was recently named as a top ten agency across categories – working in digital and branding in both NYC and Canada!
Coffee cup cheers and bi-coastal celebrations on our company Slack channel were in order in July, and again in September, when we heard the news. Clutch.co is a B2B research firm that reviews and rates top development, design, and marketing companies and York & Chapel has been named in the top ten list for digital and branding categories.
We are honored to be listed along with 14 other highly accomplished and innovative digital & branding agencies. But, how did we get on the list? I asked Nelson Ho, our Partner and Managing Director, to share his thoughts on how Y&C stands out as a successful firm.
In your opinion, what does it take to be a strong digital agency?
NH: Great people. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the creative geniuses that bring our sometimes-crazy ideas to life. Beyond just skills and experience, each member of the team must demonstrate a tenacity to work through seemingly impossible requests and be dedicated to delivering results over and above client expectations. This is the bedrock of a great consultancy.
What’s our secret to success?
NH: Building long-term, integrated relationships with clients is key. Personal one-on-one communication is the heart of our business, and we’re deeply invested in our client’s success, no matter the size of a project. Whether for simple small collateral pieces or 360 marketing campaign launches, I often say that we offer Fortune 500 expertise through a boutique experience. Unlike with larger agencies, clients work directly with our most senior and experienced team members suited for the project, even if that means a partner needs to roll up their sleeves and pick up a drawing pen. This trust and commitment between Y&C and our clients are what sets us apart.
What are your top learnings since Y&C started 17 years ago?
NH: I’ve learned to encourage our teams to always be curious. As our company has grown, we’ve seen the incredible transformation of marketing technology build powerful brands. To stay relevant and to do our best work for our clients, we absolutely must stay on top of innovations in digital communications. We hope our employees take full advantage of their Y&C education fund so they can continue to expand their skills and stay up-to-date with the latest design, development, UI/UX, and business technologies. Their professional development is not only a benefit to our company and their fellow team members, but our employees are investing in their own personal and professional growth, which is a practice we care about deeply. By enrolling in a course or attending a conference in their area of interest, our team members come to the office engaged and excited about the work they’re producing, fueling their passion for continuous learning.
